The ballet season at NOVAT will start on September 13. Theatre-goers will be able to watch the exciting premiere of the previous season ‒ the action ballet Le Corsaire edited by Alexander Omar.
Tchaikovsky's opera The Oprichnik, the big summer premiere of NOVAT, will open the opera season on September 15. In September and early October, on the Grand Stage of NOVAT, you can watch and listen to world musical hits ‒ the opera Carmen by G. Bizet (September 21), the operetta Die Fledermaus by J. Strauss (September 27) with its atmosphere of carelessness and masquerade intrigues, the epic sublime opera narration Prince Igor by A. Borodin (October 6).
Ballet autumn will present Novosibirsk theatre-goers their favourite classical performances ‒ Romeo and Juliet by S. Prokofiev (September 18), Swan Lake by P. Tchaikovsky (September 19 and 20), Cinderella by S. Prokofiev (afternoon and evening of September 28). The autumn repertoire includes neoclassical productions by Spanish choreographer Nacho Duato: La Bayadere by L. Minkus (September 14) and The Sleeping Beauty by P. Tchaikovsky (afternoon and evening on October 5). In our autumn playbill you can find performances that have won the hearts of the audience since the premiere and retain the interest of the public: fabulous family ballet-blockbuster The Little Humpbacked Horse by R. Shchedrin (afternoon and evening of September 22); a masterpiece by choreographer Roland Petit, inspired by Hugo's great novel Notre Dame de Paris (September 25 and 26); subtle psychologism and bitter irony in the dance reading of Chekhov's prose ‒ ballet Anyuta staged by the legendary artist and choreographer Vladimir Vasiliev.
At any time of the year, The Nutcracker ballet by P. Tchaikovsky is able to give us children's faith in miracles, bright expectations and hope for happiness. On October 3 and 4, we invite you to attend the first shows in the new season of the most magical ballet of the world repertoire in the famous version by Yuri Grigorovich.
