The BRIDGE AWARDS – Bridge of Friendship were presented in Moscow for the first time. The first soloist of the NOVAT Ballet Company Kohei Fukuda is among the twelve laureates of the newly established award.
The BRIDGE AWARDS are given to talented and enterprising people from different countries who implement projects that promote cultural dialogue, develop international business cooperation and strengthen human ties between countries.
Kohei Fukuda was awarded in the category “Culture and Art” and received the award at a ceremony on June 19 from the hands of the famous actor, screenwriter, producer and musician Steven Seagal. The international jury of the BRIDGE AWARDS recognized the talented artist for his many years of active work contributing to the development of interest in classical Russian ballet, Russian cultural traditions and education in Japan.
Kohei graduated from the K-Ballet School in Tokyo, began his creative career with the K-Ballet Company, he has been working at the Novosibirsk theatre since 2016 and has become one of the favourites of the Novosibirsk audience. A true ambassador of the Russian classical ballet and the Siberian Ballet School in Japan, Kohei is the creator of the Spasibo Project, cultural exchange project between Russia and Japan, producer of the Ballet Stage international ballet project, and international representative of the Novosibirsk State Choreographic School. As a producer, Kohei organizes performances and master classes of his Siberian colleagues on stages and in educational institutions in Japan and other countries.
108 people from 41 countries applied for the BRIDGE AWARDS in twelve nominations. The laureates were foreign citizens who implement projects in the fields of education, culture, medicine, sports, social activities and charity.
