Music that Lives on

Vladimir Yakovlevich Shainsky (1925-2017) is a composer who has given the world music that first sounds in childhood, and then remains with a person for life. His songs are simple and sincere, but behind this simplicity there is an amazing power that can touch the heart of any listener.

Shainsky wrote music for many cartoons, films and performances. His melodies live in such songs as “The Blue Wagon”, “Chunga Changa”, “Clouds”, “There is only a moment” and “Parental Home”. They tell us what kindness, humour, and light sadness are, and teach us to believe in a miracle. Adults find wisdom in these songs, and children find the joy of playing and amazing discoveries. Shainsky's music continues to sound like a reminder that happiness is always near you — you just have to start singing along... For the 100th anniversary of Vladimir Shainsky, the soloists of the Novosibirsk Opera, the children's choir and the chamber ensemble “Music for Us” have prepared an exciting festive program featuring the composer's favourite songs.
