Autumn ... It’s a time when everything around is ablaze with bright colours, golden leaves – a real celebration of the last beauty of nature. In its own way, autumn lulls you to sleep, immerses you in warm memories, time is forgotten, and something quiet and sad spreads in your soul. There is always something of eternity, grandeur and fragility in autumn…
This amazing time of bright sadness and quiet joy, has always been a special source of inspiration for Russian artists. Its unique, mysterious duality – splendor and at the same time withering – encouraged poets, painters, philosophers and musicians to capture her most unimaginable facets and images. Pyotr Tchaikovsky wrote about autumn: “Do you like gray days like today? I love them terribly. And in general, the beginning of autumn can only be compared with spring in its charm. It seems to me that September, with its gently melancholic colouring of nature, has the predominant property of filling my soul with quiet and joyful sensations.”
By the Notes of Autumn is a new concert program of romantic lyrics by Russian composers dedicated to this wonderful time. Along with the amazing beauty of music, famous examples of Russian painting will be presented by modern technical means. Opera soloists will take part in the concert.
