The Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre (NOVAT) has made a generous gift to school libraries of the Novosibirsk Region.
Now every single school library of 1001 schools has in its archives a richly-illustrated reference book about the Theatre. The ceremony of handing the books took place in Novosibirsk during a seminar for the officials of municipal education departments.
As was mentioned by Natalya Yaroslavtseva, the director of the Novosibirsk Institute of Education Monitoring and Development, “Together with the heads of education municipal departments I am greeting this initiative put forward by NOVAT. Colourful and informative books will be undoubtedly useful for the children. Now they have an opportunity to get information on the Theatre’s history, its repertoire, artists, and visit the Theatre as prepared spectators.”
Vladimir Kekhman, the director of NOVAT, “Attracting the young audience is one of the basic goals of NOVAT’s development. In order to make visiting the Theatre successful, it’s necessary to start acquaintance long before entering the auditorium. I’m more than sure that enrichment of the school libraries by literature of such rank will yield in humanitarian education of the young generation. ”
