The Ballet Company of our theatre completed the 81st season with performances of P. Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. The final sold-out ballets of the season took place in the afternoon and evening on July 25. The daytime performance of P. Tchaikovsky's ballet masterpiece was marked by the honouring of the prima ballerina of our theatre, Anna Odintsova, who was awarded the high title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation at the end of the season.
The ballet team of the theatre worked through the season with incredible dedication and performed 241 shows at a high professional level (the New Year's series of The Nutcracker ballets alone amounted to 29 performances)! The soloists of our theatre Ekaterina Zabrovskaia and Nikita Ksenofontov, together with the head of the Company, Alexander Omar, took part in events dedicated to the anniversary of the brilliant Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, held on the stage of the Donetsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after A. Solovyanenko, as well as in cultural and educational institutions of the Donetsk People's Republic. The Company successfully performed on the stage of the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, where, as part of the program of the XVII International Festival “In Honour of Ekaterina Maksimova”, it presented the legendary ballet by A. Khachaturian Spartacus choreographed by Yu. Grigorovich.
