Tickets for the performances of February and March are already on sale

On our website novat.ru, in the mobile application and in the theatre box office, ticket sales for performances of February and the first decade of March are open. We’d like to tell you what awaits the audience on the Grand Stage of NOVAT at the end of winter and at the beginning of spring.

The February playbill will be opened by ballet performances. La Bayadere by L. Minkus – the gem of Russian classics in the neoclassical interpretation of the famous Spanish choreographer Nacho Duato will be performed on February 1 and 2, as well as on March 1. An exciting ballet adventure with the Russian flavour – The Little Humpbacked Horse by R. Shchedrin - will give bright emotions to children and adults in the afternoon and evening of February 3 and March 2. In the last month of winter, it will be possible to dive again into the magical New Year's festivity – on February 16 and 17, the P. Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker in the famous production by Yuri Grigorovich will help to believe in miracles, will waltz you round with snowflakes, will enchant with crystal shimmers of variations of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Your favourite holidays will become even more joyful if you celebrate them by going to the theatre in a warm company of nearest and dearest.

The ballet Don Quixote by L. Minkus, thanks to a love story with a happy ending, sparkling humor and virtuoso temperamental dances, will certainly give you pleasure on the evening of February 14, Valentine's Day. For the Defender of the Fatherland Day on February 22 and 23, NOVAT will show A. Khachaturian's ballet Spartacus choreographed by Yuri Grigorovich – a hymn to courage, staunchness and indomitable desire for freedom. The ballet Anyuta, staged and choreographed by Vladimir Vasiliev and beloved by the audience, will be a gift for beautiful ladies for International Women's Day on March 8. You can also see this dramatic performance, lavishly decorated with beautiful dance variations, in the afternoon and evening of February 10.

In the ballet playbill of February and March – the eternally young masterpieces of P. Tchaikovsky Swan Lake (February 8 and 9) and The Sleeping Beauty (in the afternoon and evening of March 9); S. Prokofiev's ballets Cinderella (in the afternoon and evening of February 24), Romeo and Juliet (February 28 and 29). On March 6, the audience will see The Girl with Blue Eyes, or Coppelia by L. Delibes – a fascinating story about how to distinguish true beauty from a skillful fake, with the participation of the mysterious master Coppelius and his mechanical dolls. On March 10, we invite you to see the diamond in the crown of the world ballet – Giselle, ou les Wilis by A. Adam.

Grand opera items in the February and March playbill are represented by the greatest masterpieces of this genre. February 4 – Aida by Giuseppe Verdi, in the original format of a fashion opera, proposed by the production director Vyacheslav Starodubtsev. The performance impresses with spectacular costumes and large-scale scenery, combining modern design techniques and strict adherence to musical drama and composer's idea. The charming and enterprising Figaro, familiar to everyone, spins intrigues and connects the hearts of lovers in the opera Il barbiere di Siviglia by G. Rossini – we invite you to this cheerful performance on February 11. The operetta Die Fledermaus will be presented on the Grand Stage on February 15. The captivating music by Strauss, the magnificent voices, the carefree atmosphere of masquerade intrigues will give you a sense of celebration and lightness. The operas by G. Puccini amaze the listener with the power and expression of music, dramatic action, vivid musical images and require huge vocal capabilities from the singers. The highlights of the composer's creativity are presented in the repertoire of February and March: Turandot – February 18, Tosca – March 3. February 25 – The Queen of Spades. The Game by P. Tchaikovsky, the most mystical Russian opera, in which the production director Vyacheslav Starodubtsev analyzes the phenomenon of the game, following the theatrical tradition of Vsevolod Meyerhold in the director's solution. Fatal passions, clashes of characters and the unsurpassed music by Georges Bizet – the famous opera Carmen is waiting for you on the evening of March 7.
