St. Petersburg Eifman Ballet on tour at NOVAT

15 to 17 April St. Petersburg Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre will perform on the Main stage of NOVAT.

A landmark phenomenon of contemporary Russian ballet community, this company tours to Novosibirsk to present two of their productions, Beyond Sin and Anna Karenina – new choreographic renditions of novels by Dostoevsky and Tolstoy.

  • Beyond Sin – 15 April at 7 p.m. This ballet is set to music by Wagner, Mussorgsky, Rachmaninoff and represents a translation of Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov to a universal dance language. Performance of this ballet at NOVAT is dedicated to the upcoming 200th anniversary of this great Russian writer.
  • Anna Karenina – 16 April at 7 p.m., then 17 April at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. In this ballet set to Tchaikovsky’s music Boris Eifman’s choreography reveals emotional upheaval of a love triangle Anna -Karenin – Vronsky, the main storyline of Tolstoy’s novel.

The Big Tour of St. Petersburg Boris Eifman state academic ballet theatre in Novosibirsk is arranged by Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture Rosconcert under the authority of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
