Today NOVAT celebrates the anniversary of Tatiana Kapustina, an Honored Artist of the RSFSR, soloist with the Novosibirsk opera and ballet theatre in 1968-1989, and an amazing tutor.
The future star of the Siberian ballet was offered a job with the Novosibirsk company right after finishing the Moscow choreographic school in 1968. Her first part on this stage was Myrtha from Giselle. Thanks to her outstanding natural physical abilities, artistic temper, hard work and talent, Tatiana brilliantly performed parts of both classic and modern repertoire: Zarema (The Fountain of Bakhchisarai), Kitri (Don Quixote), Aegina (Spartacus), Mekhmene Banu (A Legend of Love), Anna (Anna Karenina), Lady MacBeth (MacBeth), Cleopatra (Antony and Cleopatra).
For more than sixty years (since 1969) Tatiana Kapustina has been giving classes at the Novosibirsk Choreographic College; in 2016 Ballet magazine awarded her with Soul of Dance prize in the Teacher category. One of her disciples is a star of NOVAT ballet company and a People’s Artist of Russia Anna Zharova. She congratulates her teacher on her anniversary: “Tatiana Konstantinovna is a unique person, there is not enough words to express how grateful we are. I can’t stop admiring her endless capability, kindness and understanding. She’s not only a talented tutor, but also a great ballerina, a ballet master. However she is really modest, tolerant and patient with everyone. Not only is she capable of teaching, she also can cultivate love of ballet and dance in general. Now we pass down the knowledge Tatiana Konstantinovna imparted to us back in the day. With all my heart I congratulate the beloved tutor on her anniversary!”
NOVAT joins in congratulating and sincerely wishes Tatiana Konstantinovna goods and happiness, advances in her artistic and teaching career, talented and thankful students, lots of energy and wellness for many years to come!
