The first sold-out premiere of the season took place on NOVAT's Grand Stage on September 13. Karen Khachaturian's family ballet Cipollino, choreographed by Genrikh Mayorov and beautifully staged by Valery Levental, has become a real gift for young and adult theatre-goers. The audience thanked the participants of the performance with a long standing ovation.
The premiere of Cipollino is dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birth of composer Karen Khachaturian, which is celebrated on September 19, and the 50th anniversary of the premiere of Cipollino on the stage of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
We congratulate the theatre staff on a wonderful premiere and thank the artists of the Ballet Company, the orchestra conducted by maestro Philip Selivanov and all those involved in the production for their enthusiasm, energy and vivid emotions, which they generously shared with the audience of the premiere shows.
We wish Cipollino a long and bright stage life and look forward to the theatre-goers at the next performances on November 3 at 1:00pm and 6:00pm.
