NOVAT stars, events and debuts of December

December, the last month of this year is going to be bright and eventful here in NOVAT.

Nikita Chetverikov, soloist with the Mikhailovsky theatre will present his rendition of Franz in Coppélia ballet, whereas Swanhilda will be performed by NOVAT principal dancer Anna Zharova on 2 December.

For those who missed the biggest event of this autumn, Roland Petit’s Notre Dame de Paris, the legendary ballet will premiere again on 3 and 4 December on the Main Stage. The performance will feature Bakhtiyar Adamzhan, principal dancer with the Astana Opera, Nikita Chetverikov, soloist with the Mikhailovsky Theatre and your favorite soloists of the Novosibirsk company – Olga Grishenkova, Ekaterina Likhova, Evgeny Basalyuk, Nikita Ksenofontov, Mikhail Nedelsky.

14 December Anna Zharova will perform Kitri in the sparkling ballet Don Quixote, paired with Bakhtiyar Adamzhan, who won the hearts of the Novosibirsk audience. This will be the first time he performs Basil on this venue.

Renowned artist with brilliant technique and noble style, Artistic Director of the Novosibirsk ballet company Leonid Sarafanov will perform Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake on 9 December, then 11 December he will play Prince Désiré in The Sleeping Beauty.

Andrey Denisov will perform Mozart in Mozart and Salieri for the first time on 12 December. Baritone performer Artem Akimov will make his debut as Edwin in Die Csárdásfürstin on 15 December.

Soloist with the Mikhailovsky Theatre Ernest Latypov will perform the part of the Duke in Giselle, ou les Wilis on 15 December, while the title role is to be performed by the principal dancer of our company Olga Grishenkova.

The title roles of Carmen on 19 December will be performed by the Russian opera stars: soloist with The Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow Anastasia Lepeshinskaya as Carmen and the soloist with NOVAT opera company Mikhail Pirogov as José. Soprano Sofia Bachaeva will debut as Micaëla in this performance.

The audience’s darling Nikita Ksenofontov, a brilliant and vigorous soloist with our ballet company will debut as Romeo on 17 December, whereas Elizaveta Anoshina will for the first time perform the part of Juliet.

18 December the audience will meet a new Nikiya in La Bayadère ¬– the part will be performed by prima ballerina Anna Odintsova, and a new Solor, for the first time performed by Artem Pugachev. 19 December prima ballerina Anna Germizeeva will debut as Gamzatti in this particular staging.

Galina Petkevich will perform the intricate part of the Queen of the Night from The Magic Flute scheduled on 26 December on the Second Stage.

We suggest you consider picking a winter night to visit the theatre and enjoy the magic atmosphere created by a ballet-shaped Christmas tale The Nutcracker. Vasily Vainonen’s version of the ballet will run 21 – 26 December; then on 29, 30 and 31 December there will be opportunities to watch Nacho Duato’s rendition, all on the Main Stage of NOVAT.
