We are entering the long-awaited phase of exciting holiday affairs, where we pick presents for our friends and relatives. Present your loved ones with vivid impressions and unforgettable emotions provided by our theatre’s performances.

The new year at NOVAT will start with most marvelous shows. The Main Stage will host the embodiment of Christmas spirit, Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker on 2, 3, 4 January. The audience will travel into magical worlds of your favorite fairy-tales with Prokofiev’s Cinderella on 5 and 6 January, and Tchaikovsky’s The Sleeping Beauty on 8 January.

Tchaikovsky’s most romantic, bright and sublime opera Iolanta will be performed on the Main Stage on 7 January, the Christmas day.

The Second Stage of NOVAT will open new year holidays with a mischievous musical tale Karlsson on the Roof composed specifically for NOVAT by Anton Gladkikh. This will be followed by an enchanted winter opera Morozko. This striking premiere featured with amazing costumes and sets has a musical score written by Mikhail Krasev – author of the famous song The Forest Raised a Christmas Tree. The production had a great success with both young and adult audience during its first nights in December. The holidays will close with C. Cui’s wonderful tale Puss in Boots.

Our January playbill includes world’s best classical ballets: Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, Minkus’ La Bayadère, Adam’s Giselle, ou les Wilis and Le Corsaire. As for your weekend we suggest the family night out for Delibes’ Coppélia, Khachaturian’s Cipollino on the Main Stage of NOVAT. For opera lovers and those just discovering this great genre in January 2022 we offer Strauss’ ever-young operetta Die Fledermaus, Verdi’s operatic masterpieces Un Ballo in Maschera and Aida, Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov.

The premiere that stole the Novosibirsk audience’s heart, Roland Petit’s Notre Dame de Paris, will be staged again on 27, 28 January.

All shows fall under the Pushkin card program.
