Alessandro Luciano
A native of Rome, Mr. Luciano began studying piano at the age of seven and subsequently dedicated himself to composition and conducting.
He soon discovered his talent for singing and began studies with Romualdo Savastano and recent years attended courses with Giuseppe Sabatini, Ernesto Palacio, Raul Gimenez and Robert Kettelson.
Mr. Luciano graduated from the Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica “Silvio D’Amico” in Rome and performed as an actor in many productions which brought him to important theaters in Italy and working with famous directors.
Mr.Luciano, as tenor, has already made a name for himself for his interpretations of “Belcanto” in the Italian and French lyric repertoire with a focus on Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini.
He has interpreted an opera repertoire that spaces from Haydn ( Il mondo della Luna ) to Verdi ( La Traviata, Rigoletto, Falstaff ), from Rossini ( Il Barbiere di Siviglia, La Cenerentola, Il Viaggio a Reims, Guillaume Tell, L’occasione fa il ladro, La donna del lago, La gazza ladra, Ciro in Babilonia, Otello ) to Prokofiev ( L’amour des trois oranges, The Gambler ), passing for Mozart ( Die Zauberflote, Idomeneo, La clemenza di Tito ), Bellini ( La Sonnambula, I Puritani ), Donizetti ( L’elisir d’amore, La fille du règiment, Maria Stuarda, Don Pasquale, La Favorita, Lucia di Lammermoor ), Gounod ( Romèo et Juliette, Faust ) and Puccini ( La Bohème ).
Strong and lasting is the bond with the modern and contemporary music that has brought him to perform authors as Benjamin Britten ( The Prodigal Son, A Midsummer night dream ), Arnold Schoenberg ( Ode a Napoleone Bonaparte ), Leo Ferrè ( La Chanson du mal aimè ), Alberico Vitalini ( Il Mistero del Corporale), and to the first world executions of the Oratory Il Cantico dei Cantici of Mon.Marco Frisina and of the Operas Fadwa of Dimitri Scarlato and The Juniper Passion of Michael Williams.
He has worked with prestigious conductors such Myung-Whun Chung, Daniel Barenboim, Bruno Campanella, Alberto Zedda, Michele Mariotti, Roberto Abbado, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Donato Renzetti, Paolo Olmi, Lu Ja, David Stern, Dimitry Jurowski, Corrado Rovaris, Eric Klas; and with stage directors such Graham Vick, Grisha Asagaroff, Damiano Michieletto, Mario Pontiggia, Ugo Gregoretti, Dmitri Tcherniakov, Emilio Sagi, Ruggero Cappuccio, Riccardo Canessa, Andrea Cigni.
He collaborates with the most important Opera Houses and Concert Halls such as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Teatro Real de Madrid, Operà de Monte Carlo, Teatro dell Opera di Roma, Teatro Regio of Torino, the Rossini Opera Festival, Teatro Verdi of Trieste, Teatro Comunale of Bologna, Teatro Sao Carlos of Lisboa, the Welsh National Opera, the Israeli Opera of Tel Aviv, Theatre Royal de la Monnaie de Bruxelles, the Art Center of Seoul, the Auditorium Parco della Musica of Rome, The Gasteig of Munich; and with orchestras such as the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Munchner PhilharmoniKer, La Filarmonica della Scala, La Philarmonique de Monte-Carlo.
