Ballet debuts of March

Young artists of NOVAT Ballet Company are getting ready to present new parts to the audience during March performances. Here we introduce debutants of the first spring month.

17th March Adolphe Adam’s captivating “Le Corsaire” is calling you to join sea roamers in quest for adventures. During the matinee a playful temptress Gulnare will be performed for the first time by Margarita Solodova, a bronze winner of the International ballet competition in Seoul. Alexey Tyutyunnik will perform the part of a brave captain Conrad, with Anna Germizeeva performing his love, a gorgeous Greek girl Medora.

Two debuts will be made during the most cheerful and waggish ballet “Cipollino” by Karen Khachaturyan. Nadezhda Sorokina will play the brave Radish for the first time, and Alyona Dyakina will make her debut as the charming Magnolia. Konstantin Alexentsev will lead the garden dwellers to the fight for justice.

24th March Lilac Fairy of Tchaikovsky’s “Sleeping Beauty” staged by a modern Spanish choreographer Nacho Duato will be performed for the first time by Ksenia Zakharova. Impersonating a good fairy the ballerina will help Prince Désiré (Roman Polkovnikov) awaken Princess Aurora (Anna Odintsova).

Shakespeare’s ageless love story will be staged at NOVAT on 31st March. At 13:00 Prokofiev’s production of “Romeo and Juliet” will be featured with Eugene Dubrovsky as Tybalt, title roles by Ekaterina Likhova (Juliet) and Eugene Basalyuk (Romeo). During the night performance of “Romeo and Juliet” at 19:00 Vasily Sobolev will make his debut as Tybalt, Anna Germizeeva will play Juliet, Nikolay Maltsev will accompany her as Romeo.
