Maestro Francesco Di Mauro

Appointed in 2001 Coordinator to the Artistic Direction of the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra, the most important Italian concert-orchestral institution, he has gained, over the last few years, a vast experience in the administrative and artistic management of large orchestral masses. In 1999 he obtained his first appointment as Permanent Conductor of the Pazardjik State Symphony Orchestra of Bulgaria, with which he made a series of important tours and in the autumn of 2000 he was appointed First Principal Guest Conductor of the Bergeries theater in Paris. He boasts a rich and intense conducting activity which began after obtaining the Diploma and the first prize with gold medal in Conducting at the Paris Conservatory under the guidance of famous masters such as Sergiu Celibidache and Henri-Claude Fantapié.

He regularly conducts important opera, symphony and chamber orchestras in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Croatia, Portugal, Australia, Russia, Bulgaria, Argentina, Brazil, United States, etc. Among his most recent successes the direction of Gioacchino Rossini's Barber of Seville at the Metaponto Festival of Giuseppe Verdi's Don Carlos at the Zagreb Opera House, the direction of the symphonic concert in commemoration of the massacre of 2 August 1980, broadcast live world-wide from Radio Tre and Rai Tre with the "Arturo Toscanini" Symphony Orchestra of Parma, the symphonic concert in memory of the Piazza Fontana massacre with the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra and two tours with the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra.

His international career is developing with engagements at prestigious musical institutions such as the Zagreb National Opera, the Warsaw National Chamber Opera, the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Sofia Radio Television Orchestra, the Ukrainian National Philharmonic Orchestra of Kiev, the Zurich Tonhalle Symphony Orchestra, the Mannheim Chamber Orchestra, the Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra of Parma, the Denver Symphony Orchestra, the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Oporto Symphony Orchestra .
