The Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, the flagship of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic, is at the stage of NOVAT. The first and only academic symphony orchestra in the region, one of the best orchestras in the country, celebrates its 70th anniversary with a grand anniversary concert.
From the moment the Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra was founded by the great Arnold Katz in 1956 until the beginning of 1989, the orchestra was based at the Opera and Ballet Theatre. Therefore, the choice of a concert hall for a solemn anniversary concert is not accidental.
For seven decades, the orchestra has become a truly cultural asset of Russia. The renowned band performs with great success on the largest stages of the world, participates in international festivals, and collaborates with outstanding conductors and soloists. The orchestra actively performs and tours, maintaining a high level of performance and fidelity to the traditions of the Russian symphonic school. It is the flagship collective of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival.
In the anniversary concert, the orchestra's artistic director and chief conductor Dimitris Botinis will be at the conductor's desk. A laureate of international competitions, winner of the Russian President's Prize for young cultural figures, he collaborates with leading Russian symphony ensembles and actively develops artistic and touring projects of the Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra.
The project of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Novosibirsk State Philharmonic unites two institutions, the history of which is inextricably linked with the development of the Siberian performing school and the preservation of the traditions of academic art. The anniversary concert of the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra on NOVAT's Grand Stage is a symbol of Novosibirsk's unified cultural space.
