In 1979 Vyacheslav graduated from M. I. Glinka Novosibirsk State Conservatory, then since 1985 he has been working at the Novosibirsk theatre. In 1994 he was invited to German and Italy as a Stage Chorus Master for “Boris Godunov” (The Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe) and “Aida” (Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville); he has worked multiple times with choral ensembles from the Republic of Korea (master classes, concerts – 2007, 2009). He prepared a lot of shows with the theatre chorus and student chorus of M. I. Glinka NSC. Choral performances were several times awarded by the Novosibirsk department of Theatre Union of the Russian Federation.
From 2004 to 2011 he has been heading the big chorus based «New Siberian Singers» chamber chorus, which has proved itself by excellent performances in Russia and abroad. Under the baton of V. Podyelsky the chorus took part in the Festival of Russian Culture in London, the International Art Festival in Athens, the “Territory” Contemporary Art Festival, the VI Moscow Easter Festival, also took part in recordings for Alpha Record Company. In February 2010 the chorus took part in the First International Festival MusicAeterna, dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the Chamber Chorus and the Chamber Orchestra of the theatre; at that festival the following pieces were performed: Handel’s «Dixit Dominus», Henry Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” and Mozart’s “Requiem”.
As a Stage Chorus Master he has prepared more than 50 performances with the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet theatre:, Mussorgsky’s “Boris Godunov”, “Khovanshchina” (1990, 1995), Verdi’s “Nabucco” (with Bulgarian Varna Opera Theatre), Rubin’s “Kashtanka” (1989), Shostakovich’s “Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District” (1997, 2007), Kobekin’s “Young David” (world premiere, 1998), Dargomyzhsky’s “Rusalka”, Tchaikovsky’s “The Queen of Spades”and “Eugene Onegin”, Bizet’s “Carmen” (2001), Puccini’s “La bohème” (1997), Verdi’s “Rigoletto” (2002), “Aida” (2005), Schnittke’s "Life with an Idiot" (2003), Verdi’s “Macbeth” (coproduction with Opéra National de Paris, 2008), the Novosibirsk premiere of Russian choral opera by R. Shchedrin “Boyarinya Morozova” (2009), Borodin’s “Prince Igor”, Charles Gounod’s “Faust” (2012), Stravinsky’s “Les Noces” (2013), Verdi’s “La Traviata” (2014), Wagner’s “Tannhäuser” (2014), Mussorgsky’s “Boris Godunov” (2015), Puccini’s “Turandot” (2016), Verdi’s “Otello” (2016), “Aida” (2016), “Un Ballo in Maschera” (2017), Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore” (2017), Tchaikovsky’s “The Queen of Spades. The Game” (2017), Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci” (2017), Strauss’ “The Bat” (2018) and other.
While holding this post he took part in staging of Virdi’s “Requiem” featuring international stars (2012), the Russian premiere of Bernstein’s “Mass” (2013), Britten’s “War Requiem” with musicians from Russia and Great Britain (2013), Desyatnikov’s “The Rite of Winter 1949” (2014), Rossini’s “Stabat Mater”, Sviridov’s “Pushkin’s Garland”, concert of the Russian Choral Music (2018), premiere of the oratorio “Vladimir the Great, baptizer of Rus”, Salnikova’s operas “Christmas”, “The Tsar” and many other.
He was awarded “Chorus master of the year” by the professional musical newspaper “Muzykalnoye Obozrenie” (Musical Survey) in 2009. In 2013 he was awarded II class medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland".
