Maksim Isaakovich Dunayevsky is a famous Russian composer, whose melodies have long been a part of our cultural memory. He is the author of music for dozens of films and cartoons, plays, musicals, and popular songs. In his work there is lightness and romance, impetuosity and scope. His music sounds like an invitation to a dream, journey, and joy, remaining close and understandable to every listener. M. Dunayevsky continues to actively write music, perform, and inspire new generations of listeners and performers.

His father, Isaak Osipovich Dunayevsky (1900-1955), is one of the most prominent Soviet composers, whose name is associated with the creation of Soviet operettas, original Soviet jazz, musical comedies and, of course, songs. Many of Isaak Dunayevsky’s compositions became real symbols of the era – “March of the Jolly Fellows”, “Oh, it's good to live in the Soviet country”, “Captain's Song” and many others. These melodies sound like the voice of time – bright, light and life-affirming.

As part of the cycle “Our Best Songs”, NOVAT presents a festive concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Maksim Dunayevsky and the 125th anniversary of the birth of Isaak Dunayevsky. This is an opportunity to touch the work of composers, to hear favourite songs written by Maksim and his father Isaak Dunayevsky in live performance. The songs that at one time conquered not only the Soviet stage, but also thousands of hearts. The songs without which it's impossible to imagine the films “The Three Musketeers”, “Mary Poppins, Goodbye”, “Ah, vaudeville, vaudeville”, etc.
