Honored Artist of Russia

Jury Komov graduated from the Novosibirsk State Conservatory named after M. Glinka (class of the People’s Artist of the RSFSR, professor A. Zhukov, 1987). In 1989-1992 he was a soloist at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Sarajevo (Yugoslavia).

He has been with the Company of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre since 1987.

He performed more than 40 roles on the stage of the theatre as follows: The Pretender, Shuysky (Boris Godunov by Mussorgsky), Lensky (Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky), Andrey (Khovanshchina by Mussorgsky), The Prince (Rusalka by Dargomyzhsky), Lykov, Vladimir Igorevich (Prince Igor by Borodin), Bomeliy (The Tsar’s Bride by Rimsky-Korsakov), Rooster (Terem-teremok by Polsky), Mozart (Mozart and Salieri by Rimsky-Korsakov), Sergei and Tattered peasant (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk by Shostakovich), Goose (Kashtanka by Rubin, world premiere), Monostatos (The Magic Flute by Mozart), Vova (Life with an Idiot by Schnittke), Cassio (Otello by Verdi), Alfredo (La Traviata by Verdi), Malcolm (Macbeth by Verdi), Messenger (Aida by Verdi), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor by Donizetti), Kudryash (Katya Kabanova by Janacek), Vaudemont, Almeric (Iolanta by Tchaikovsky), Heinrich der Schreiber (Tannhauser by Wagner), Chairman of the auction (The Canterville Ghost by Molchanov, world premiere), Pinkerton. Goro (Madama Butterfly by Puccini). He has also an extensive concert repertoire.

As a participant in international opera projects, he toured Italy, Germany, France, and Argentina. He performed with the Theatre Company and by individual invitations in dozens of Russian cities, participated in international festivals in Thailand, Germany, and Italy.
