Vivaldi's time is the Baroque era, and Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741) is the greatest representative of this era. The word “baroque” comes from the Portuguese “perola barroca”, i.e. a pearl of bizarre shape. A very sophisticated musical ornament, overcoming genre boundaries, virtuosity of musical performance, the emergence of new types of art, such as opera, are not the only but important signs of the Baroque era...

The Baroque musical style is at the peak of a new wave of interest and popularity today. Remote from us for several centuries, it harbours many mysteries, impresses with ingenious structures, incredible calculations, on which grandiose developments are being built. Baroque music plunges into the depths of the human soul, opens to us the abysses of the universe and lifts us to the heights of the spirit. It captivates with its festivities, the celebration of beauty and grandeur, at the same time makes you think about the mysteries and meanings of life, about something intimate and personal...

The times of Vivaldi are a rich constellation of composer names, contemporaries of the great Antonio, including both equally great and lesser-known ones, but this music has come down to us and arouses huge interest. Therefore, the new concert program will feature not only the music of Antonio Vivaldi, but also other composers of that era, including Nicolo Yommelli, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Giuseppe De Bottis, and others.

The NOVAT chamber ensemble Music for Us, soloists of the Novosibirsk Opera and artists of the Theatre Choir are taking part in the concert.
