“Somewhere in this wide world...” is a concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Aleksandr Zatsepin, a composer whose name has become an integral part of the country's musical culture. Born on March 10, 1926 in Novosibirsk, Aleksandr Zatsepin has always kept in touch with his hometown. This is where his journey began, this is the start of the road to national fame, to music that is recognized from the first bars and kept in memory as part of one’s own life. His melodies — light and precise, ironic and lyrical — have long gone beyond the cinema screen, becoming signs of the time and the mood of entire generations. Aleksandr Zatsepin is the author of songs and melodies for more than 120 films and cartoons: “Operation Y and Shurik's Other Adventures”, “Kidnapping, Caucasian Style”, “The Diamond Arm”, “The Twelve Chairs”, “Ivan Vasilievich: Back to the Future”, etc.

The concert program will feature works by Aleksandr Zatsepin performed by soloists of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Chamber Ensemble Music for Us. This is not only a meeting with favourite music, but also a quiet conversation about memory, about roots, about how talent born on Siberian soil becomes part of a common cultural history.

This concert is a sign of gratitude to the composer and a tribute to a fellow countryman whose work continues to live, resound and unite listeners!
