The true gems of opera arias conquer the hearts of listeners. The emotional intensity and meaning of the best opera monologues capture, in whatever language they would sound. Arias can cause catharsis, pleasure, reflection of listeners… Often they become the origin of interest and love for opera. Among the great variety of opera arias there are real diamonds, the beauty, expressive power and popularity of which does not fade in the centuries. A truly outstanding aria – memorable, emotional, very personal - is the pinnacle of the opera, the composer's revelation with the listener. It requires the skill from the singer, virtuosity of performing, mastery of the bel canto technique, the highest culture of sound. The role of arias is huge – they narrate events and create a musical portrait of the hero, dragging him into the world of complex vicissitudes and experiences. Arias are extremely multifaceted in their content – they can conquer with lyrically filled melodies, be enchantingly virtuosic, fall upon us with an unprecedented force of drama, tragic intensity; they can immerse us in contemplation, amaze with an epic scale, can captivate with sparkling fun, cause a smile and laughter... Arias are organically involved in the texture of the opera, but they live perfectly outside its framework. Whatever the content of the aria, it is able to give the listener the pleasure of opera art, to offer the opportunity to find his diamond among hundreds of thousands.
The new concert program is the anthem to the opera aria. It will be not just opera hits to be presented, but real diamonds of the opera crown, works of the "highest standard", many of which are well known to listeners.
The leading soloists of the Novosibirsk Opera will perform arias to piano accompaniment, as well as duets and scenes from the operas: "A Life for the Tsar" by Glinka, "The Tsar's Bride" by Rimsky-Korsakov, "Il barbiere di Siviglia" by Rossini, "Die Walküre" and "Tannhäuser" by Wagner, "Faust" by Gounod, "Manon" by Massenet, “Die tote Stadt” (“The Dead City”) by Korngold and others.
