Our Best Songs is one of the most popular concert cycles on NOVAT's Small Stage. What is a song for us that helps us to build and live? For many, these are bright and happy memories of their youth, for the younger generation this is showing interest in retro music and searching for their mood and emotions in it, for a huge number of music lovers these are perfect samples of classical songs rich in melodies, rhythms and genres, a harmonious combination of good poetry and good music. You must admit that this almost inexhaustible layer of songs remains in the memory, in the hearts, people love to listen to them, they love to sing them. The song was a national favourite, it really helped to build, live, fight and love. The phrase “mass song” appeared in the 1920s and immediately became common. Its themes reflected almost all aspects of the life of the Soviet people and all the most important milestones in the country's history. The songs were composed by almost all Soviet composers. Never before in the Russian history such a constellation of composers and poets had been working at the same time, and their compositions became the property of the widest masses: Alexander Alexandrov, Isaac Dunaevsky, Mikhail Isakovsky, Vasily Lebedev-Kumach, Vasily Solovyov-Sedoy, Dmitri Shostakovich and others.

In the concert program, soloists of the Novosibirsk Opera, accompanied by the chamber ensemble Music for Us, will perform popular Soviet songs, which at one time did not cease on television and radio broadcasts, conquering listeners with their melodies. NOVAT invites you to plunge into the atmosphere of this multifaceted music, which still fills life with light, joy and optimism of these splendid songs. The program of the cycle is always adorned with songs by wonderful composers - A. Pakhmutova, D. Tukhmanov, T. Khrennikov, E. Krylatov, A. Babajanyan, K. Santoro and many others. The concert will feature many popular Soviet songs as well as music from Soviet films.
