Laureate of an All-Russian competition and diploma winner of international competitions

Shagdar Zonduev graduated from the Gnessin State Institute (Russian Academy of Music; 1993).

1993-1995 — soloist of the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theatre.

1995-1999 — soloist of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

He has been with the Company of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre since 1999. On the stage of the theatre he performed more than 50 opera roles, including: Varlaam (Boris Godunov by Mussorgsky), Prince Khovansky (Mussorgsky’s Khovanshchina), The Miller (Dargomyzhsky’s Rusalka), Sobakin (Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride), The Varangian (Rimsky-Korsakov’s Sadko), Ramfis (Verdi’s Aida), Boris Timofeevich (Shostakovich’s Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk), Dikoj (Janacek’s Katya Kabanova), Gremin (Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin), King Rene (Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta), Surin (Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades), Konchak (Borodin’s Prince Igor), Don Basilio (Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia), Sparafucile, Monterone (Verdi’s Rigoletto), Colline (Puccini’s La Boheme), Bonze (Puccini’s Madama Butterfly), Angelotti (Puccini’s Tosca), Zuniga (Bizet’s Carmen), Bandits Leader (Banevich’s The Story of Kay and Gerda), etc.

As a participant in international projects, he performed in Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, and France. He toured with the Theatre Company in Moscow (Bolshoi Theatre), St. Petersburg (Mariinsky Theatre), Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Yakutsk, Seoul (Korea), Bangkok (Thailand), and Astana (Kazakhstan).

Associate Professor of the Department of Solo Singing at the Novosibirsk State Conservatory named after M. Glinka.
