Laureate of the National Opera Award “Onegin”

Evgeny Kozyrev graduated from the Novosibirsk State Conservatory named after M. Glinka (2003, class of the People’s Artist of Russia, prof. V. Urbanovich).

He has been with the Company of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre since 2003.

He performed the following parts on the stage of the theatre: Don Basilio (Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro), Tichon (Janacek’s Katya Kabanova), Lyapkin-Tyapkin (Dashkevich’s The Government Inspector, world premiere), Tattered peasant (Shostakovich’s Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk), Sailor (Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas), the tenor part in Stravinsky’s Les Noces, Chekalinsky and Master of Ceremonies in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades. Today, the artist’s repertoire includes more than 16 roles in theatre performances, including: Misail (Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov), Spoletta (Puccini’s Tosca), Le Remendado (Bizet’s Carmen), Almeric (Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta), Bardolfo (Verdi’s Falstaff), etc.

He toured with the Theatre Company in the UK, South Korea, and Thailand.

In 2020, he became the winner of the National Opera Award “Onegin” in the nomination “Artistic Management” — for performing the part of Bardolfo (Verdi’s Falstaff).
