Boris Pinkhasovich graduated from the St Petersburg Glinka Chorus School. After graduation, he entered the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (Chorus and Conducting Department). Meanwhile, he became a leasing soloist of the Smolny Chamber Chorus. In 2006, he became a conductor of the Gorky Scientists’ House Symphonic Orchestra and in 2008 he became Artistic Director of the Orchestra. In 2008, he entered the Singing Department of the Conservatoire (class of Irina Bogacheva) and graduated cum laude in 2011. He performed with Mariss Jansons, Saulius Sondeckis, Leo Kraemer. Andrey Anikhanov, Alexander Titov, Peter Feranec, Vladimir Jurowski, and other renowned conductors.
In 2011, he joined the Mikhailovsky Opera. Here he performed the principal role in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin (productions by Stanislav Gaudasinsky and Vasily Barkhatov), Marcello in Puccini’s La Bohème staged by Arnaud Bernard, participated in the Russian première of Britten’s Billy Budd (Mr Redburn) directed by Willy Decker. He took part in the concert performances of Bizet’s Carmen (Le Dancaïre) under the baton of Vasily Petrenko, Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro) and Donizetti’s Don Pasquale (Malatesta) under the baton of Mikhail Tatarnikov, and in the stage version of Slonimsky’s The Master and Margarita (Yeshua). In 2015, he performed Andrey Shchelkalov in the music and literature performance Boris the Tsar under the baton of Vladimir Jurowski. In January 2016, he performed the main role in the concert performance of Krása’s Brundibár at the Hermitage Theatre. Nowadays, at the Mikhailovsky Theatre he performs leading baritone parts in the operas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gioachino Rossini, Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Gaetano Donizetti, Ruggero Leoncavallo, and Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
